I gotta say, this was prolly one of the best action/comedies I've watched that were packed into a 50-episode anime. Not to mention I want more of it. Kenichi is about a high school kid named Shirahama, Kenichi who's in the school's karate club and who is always getting picked on, wanting to find a way to get stronger. One night he stumbles onto a girl confronting a group of delinquents and beat them to a pulp as if they were just dust. Amazed by this he wanted to learn how she did it, she told him to go to this place called "Ryouzanpaku." Thus, his adventure started.
Full of story and humor to keep you going, Kenichi has a lot to keep you going to watch (as long as you mind the SD quality with the current videos. Like the one's I've seen...) If you're a martial arts fan like me, it's also really great. Although if you're a Muay Thai zealot, don't expect things to be perfect for you. Apachai, the Muay Thai master in this anime is more of the comic relief in this show. Some Chinese martial arts are spot on though, like Ba Gua for example...
Anyways, you won't be disappointed with this show, but if you're like me, you WILL be disappointed that there's no 2nd season yet and you'll prolly be reading the manga afterwards to find out what happened to certain charaters after the show ended. (Or maybe they will make a 2nd season...who knows, I'm still hoping.) I'm giving it a 10/10.
The Martial Arts Masters
Shirahama, Kenichi. Badass, but he's still a disciple.
Some philosophical words by Akisame...
Did I forget to mention that the good ol' Chinese Martial Arts Master is a pervert?
