Analysts are predicting that after the 2nd map pack of Modern Warfare 2 comes out Activision will shut down Infinity Ward. This comes soon after the many employees leaving Infinity Ward after Activision firings of Jason West and Vince Zampella. For the last couple of weeks a huge amount of employees have been leaving Infinity Ward as many as 30 already and some of them already joining thier ex-bosses at EA with Respawn Entertainment. There's already the many lawsuits Activision is putting on both Jason and Vince as well as ex-Infinity Ward employees doing the same to Activision for not getting paid thier bonus money. One of those many lawsuits includes who owns the rights to the Modern Warfare name. It's not a big surprise to see Activision shutting down the already sinking ship that is Infinity Ward in the mist of this whole struggle between the two companies. As fans I am sure its a sorrowful goodbye and a very big hello to Respawn Entertainment, yet we are still watching how everything will play out in the court battle including who will own the rights to the name Modern Warfare brand.

This proposal in Tokyo courts have been at work to the details as far as what animes would be banned if this is pass in Tokyo. As you might expect the proposal is suggesting that there should be a ban on all loli and sexual content in anime. What this really comes down to is that in a effort to control anime  and what should be shown and not shown. This also includes big name Evangelion among many others.  Obviously this is a violation in the artistic ideas of how its presented. Here are few quotes they responded to some angry fans.

“Will scenes with ‘fictional youths’ being naked, bathing or otherwise be included in the ban?’

“Some examples of what will not be included:

Doraemon – Shizuka getting into the bath.

[…]

Evangelion – Nude scenes with Rei or Asuka.”

later on a bit of contradiction caught them,

“What do you mean by ‘sexual activity’ and ‘activity resembling sexual activity’?”

“Sexual activity means sex.

Activity resembling sexual activity means things close to sex, such as ‘fellatio,’ ‘masturbation,’ ‘anal sex,’ etc.

Ordinary nudity or kissing is not considered sexual activity. Activity resembling sex, like two naked people lying on top of one another is not considered sex.”

Also in the proposal they have, they are also looking into condemning scenes of “violence against women” or incest, in addition to its previously enumerated restrictions on anything resembling an underage character. That kinda is all anime especially the shojo type. The anime industry and the manga industry has responded to this proposal with great effort and many fans have too. I am pretty sure they had an earfull from everyone if not earlier they got a shit ton now. On a grander scale this could effect all anime and manga as we know it to some degree if this passes. I hope they read into the responses and arguments to not having this pass and hopefully the judges can see right from wrong.

For those of you who might of played the Oddworld series back in the playstation to the xbox days, Steam has announced that there will be a Oddworld pack  for sale called the "Oddpack", and will be put on steam later on this year. Also in a interview with G4TV Lorne Lanning did speak about the company coming back to work on new projects as well as a new Oddworld game. He didn't say what the new project will be, but it will be completely different to what they been doing for the Oddworld franchise. Its good to see that they are back and started on making games again. Best of luck to them.

Eailer this year it looked like there was going to be another Code Geass series and as of today it was offically announced. Interesting enough though CLAMP is not working on this series rather another company will. The characters art stlye and likeness will still be used, but from what I gather the story will be a side story to the events of Code Geass R2. The side story is set in the europen warfront where a unit was sent to pretty much a suciede mission. Bigglobe is going to show the trailer on its website at midnight tommerow. The different look of the events of Code Geass R2 is pretty cool to see. A new Iphone and Ipad app has been spotted as providing unauthroized uses of manga translated titles for free called Manga Rock. All mangas that are in the app have been licensed in North America, what the app allows is to download any number of manga chapters, select which manga's to favorite, queue up the next manga, and a lot more. Not a Basement studio is facing legal actions from Viz Media and Yen Press. The app was released on tuesday and its free to download. Yen is planning to contact Apple to remove the app, its a nice app to have but probably not something to be have if you don't want to get in trouble.

After this past week Capcom revealing the next game they are working is Marvel Vs Capcom 3, already many fans have thier list of characters they want to see in the new game. This is a bit interesting, the Tokushima Base of Japan's Self-Defense Forces have produced a poster to help recruit new members into the military or at least give them out for people interested or might consider it. The poster even though targeted at otaku's is also targeted at students from middle school to high school. The poster was helped by the anime studio ufotable, Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners, Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight!, Tales of Symphonia, in effort to help the military. This was first revealed last year at the Awa Odori Festival in Tokushima City. The poster itself shows a girl in the military outfit which looks like the air force type of uniform, while she is smiling and making a square symbol with her hands. Cute as it is I am sure this probably get some people interested in the military for the right and wrong reasons. Although, not all is lost though as last year they had a presentation about making a gundum into reality in the military. If japan does really make a full fledged gundum in thier military I think many mecha otkau's will be willing to join in a heartbeat.

If there was ever a fighting game everyone was demending for it was a another sequel to Marvel vs Capcom 2 and...finaly a trailer, which I think was leaked till E3, is out and it confirms our dreams. For the longest time people been playing Marvel vs Capcom 2 all the way back to the dreamcast to today xbox live/PSN network still fighting one another using our best crossovers of Capcom characters with Marvel characters. I have to say from the grapihcs alone It looks like the graphics will be the same as Tatsunoko VS Capcom, and have interactive enviroments too along with it. Seeing Iron man hi res against moregon looks so good, not to mention that a surprise additoin to the game is Chris Redfield fighting against the hulk. Yep, I am calling this a sleeper hit whenever this game comes out.

The Skate 3 demo has been released as of this morning on both PS3 and Xbox 360. The previous Skate games have moved the skateboarding game genre in a interesting path by making Skating a bit more realistic then the Tony Hawk games of late. Also with the additional modes of filming your own skate footage and using the right thumb stick as your way of performing tricks with you’re bored on screen. For fans of the genre or just people wanting to see how Skate 3 feels like, the demo is out now. The game is releasing on May 11th of this year.

In this poor economic times magazines are having a hard time to get by now a days, but for the fellas who work for the Shonen Jump manga magazines and Jump Square are actually extending their company by producing spin off mags as well as rebooting their current popular magazines. The magazines, Shonen Jump Next and Jump SQ.19 , are set to release this year in April 3oth and May 19th. Both magazines will cover mangas but also be covering video games and  how-to tips on women's clothing to draw in both gender crowds. I am big supporter when it comes to magazines and with these new spin offs maybe it will help Shonen Jump and Jump Square a bit.
